Birding Egret Marsh with the Summer Adventure Camp

Pelican Island Audubon’s Summer Adventure Camp visited Egret Marsh Stormwater Park on the hot summer morning of Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Though the migrant birds are gone, what was lost in variety was made up for in seeing birds nesting on site. The trip was led by Pelican Island Audubon Environmental Educator Katheryne Nix and Indian River County Stormwater Educator Alexis Peralta. Heading back to the van – and the air conditioning! – after a great morning of birding. Despite the heat the kids were very enthusiastic about all the birds they saw and how they want to do more birding in the future.
