Reflections of Blue Cypress: Photographs, History, and Poems of the Headwater Lake of the St. Johns River by Richard H. Baker & Juanita N. Baker with a Forward by George Schaller. [124 pages]
Want to savor a place that is uniquely preserved in Florida? This book with amazing color photographs, history, ecology, archeology, poetry, and local lore captures the essence of this unique Lake, the headwaters to the mighty St. John’s River.
Authors Drs. Richard & Juanita Baker have spent many years canoeing the lake and its surrounding wetlands, studying the plants and wildlife along with researching the local history and the archeology of the area. The result is this volume – the only popular book currently in print about Blue Cypress Lake, one of Florida’s premium fishing spots for bluegill, black crappie, and largemouth bass.
In keeping with their love of nature and efforts to preserve wild areas, both authors have mandated that all proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Pelican Island Audubon Society.
