Be a part of birding’s biggest World Bird count! Global Big Day is an annual celebration of the birds around you. No matter where you are, join us to count in eBird.org on 8 May 2021, help celebrate World Migratory Bird Day, and share the birds you find with eBird.
If you are here in Indian River County, Please let Pelican Island Audubon Society know where you will bird. We want to cover our county as much as we can!!! Choose one of our conservation areas, parks, conservation areas or green spaces, or even downtown!
Report your bird observations to eBird online or with the free eBird Mobile app. If you are an avid birder, submit checklists of birds throughout the day. You never know what you might spot. Your observations help us better understand what birds are in our county at this time…spring migration and beginning breeding season!
Join us to work together to see every bird visiting our county at this time and where. Let’s see if we can have more birders helping out on Global Day than ever before here to see more birds than before, too! Please email PIAS at piaudubon@yahoo.com or call (772) 567-3520 9am-1 pm M-F and let us know which hotspot you’ll be able to cover and at what times.
On May 8, 2021 we hope you’ll be a part of our global birding team. Have fun, enjoy the birds you find, stay safe, and share your sightings on eBird. Because in our world, every bird counts.
Have fun watching online what birds are being seen on Global Big Day in our county:
